Attention
I have received numerous complaints about the many of the forum signatures getting bigger and bigger and making pages slower to load and threads harder to navigate. I have noticed it myself when I read some of the threads if 2 or 3 people have huge signatures it really makes the meat of the thread get lost among all of the graphics.
So... before things get worse...
New Rules for Signatures
Signatures may contain:
1) Image(s) totalling 600x100 pixels or less and optionally one line of text
or
2) Up to 4 lines of text
A link to your feedback may also be present and not count as one of the lines of text.
To give you an idea of the size of an image, most of the lilypie tickers are 400x80 pixels (that is 400 wide by 80 high). If you're viewing a thread you can right click on an image and select properties and it will show you the dimensions and file size.
I think the above rules are a good compromise and still allow you to display an image or one ticker of some sort while not being overly big and taking up too much screen real estate.
If your siggy violates these rules please change it before Febuary 3, 2006.
Thanks for understanding.
*** Discussion about this policy, questions about sigs and images, etc should be placed over here.
Update April 10, 2007:
In addition, signature pictures deemed to be offensive may be removed without warning. Members who intentionally put offensive images in their signatures may lose membership rights temporarily or permanently. |
