Ditto.
I will continue to bump mine when it reaches the fourth page-the single listings are still happening and it's not really fair (that's my whine for the day ). |

I've been trying to PM some people and give them the link to read this thread. I may be pissing some people off by doing it but it seems most of us feel the same about the single posts. I have also posted a couple responses to threads too.
Admin - can you PM the people doing tons of single coupon posts (most of which seem to be for PP handling fee which IMO goes against the true spirit of "trading" on the board). Not that I'm against PPHF and I have done it myself to get coupons when I need lots of a single coupon, but the single posts are getting out of hand at times.
That's my 2 cents. DD got an award at school yesterday for being forthright (teachers pick 2 kids from each class per month to get an award, it was forthrightness for February). Guess we all know where she gets that, right? LOL
I *love* trading and this is the first board I traded on - and the one where I get most of my trades. I'm addicted! |

I agree!! when one person has 8 single postings on 1 page it is quite rude. And then to keep bumping them is even worse!! I personaly ask people not to post under my listings so that I can delete them after I have traded all that was posted. |

Does this mean that every time you edit your post it gets bumped? Because I too edit a million times before I'm happy with the post -- yikes!

No, editing does not move your post up. Adding a reply (either one you add or one another trader adds) is what moves your post to the top. |

REMINDER -- Everyone should remember that this is an open board. Non-members read it as well as members. If there's something you don't want the whole world to know, please DON'T post it here!!!
Your street address, e-mail address, phone number and any personal information you want kept private should NEVER be posted on-line where anyone and everyone has access to it!!!

Just reminding people about the multiple postings. 9 threads on the 1st page is really rude. Then everyone wonders why others are bumping so often. |

I don't think it will ever stop. I have tried to not bump mine until 24 hours is up, but one went from page 1 to 5 in two hours due to people having 6 different haves listed! |

Bumping is when you post in a thread for the purpose of the thread being "bumped" to the first page of a particular forum. |

It's not quoting or an option to choose Jamie
After a day, when your thread (post) has dropped back several pages, people type the word "Bump" on their thread. This bumps it back to page 1 on the Trading Post. Take a look at some of the threads and you'll see it
Also, please read the ** HELP FOR NEWBIES ** thread, located at the top of the Coupon Talk forum http://www.couponforum.com/discuss-coupons-21900.html I think you'll find some answers there too
edited for darn typo

I AGREE 100%. It is very annoying to see one person with 5 different threads being bumped to the first page. It is one thing to make a thread for a hot item that you think might go fast and then you delete the thread after it is gone, or let it die, it's another thing to seperately list coupons, or have 5 different threads on the first page!!!! |

It is also stupid that to get around the bumping rule people are going and deleting their post after it gets off page one and just creating another post.... |

I see the sneaky way now is that when someone responds to your tread with a "pm for u" Most wait a page or so and respond "pm'd u back" to get a quick bump in. Very sneaky.. But for those who do it.. It HAS been noticed |

The Coupon Trading Post has a FINITE number of threads per page... PLEASE, limit your threads to only 2 or 3 per day. This applies to us all.
Haves and wants can and should be combined while using the Subject line to highlight any one item offered.
Please, lets not need the Site Admin to begin locking those threads as well.
Be courteous and fair in posting so everyone gets a fair chance!
Thanks! |

You are not supposed to bump except every 24 hrs, not even if edited however you can edit your post without bumping |

The rule on bumping is:
| CouponForum wrote: | Please do not self-bump your posts more than once a day.
Let's try to be fair to everyone so that they can get equal exposure for the coupons they want to trade. |
The consequence for over bumping and/or stealth bumping (deleting a bump to bump again in the same calendar day) is:
| CouponForum wrote: | This continues to be a problem and I have been receiving PMs about it for far too long. Two posts were locked today due to it and more will be locked it if continues. After a warning, the next step is a week's vacation from the board.
Please everyone play fair with this limited resource!
Thank You. |
http://www.couponforum.com/coupon-trading-38343.html
As much as "you" would like your posts on the Coupon Trading Post read, so does everyone else.
The Coupon Trading Post rule on "do not self-bump your posts more than once a day" (which as per Brian ALSO includes posts on the Coupon Trains, Raffles, and Games board and the Actuals board) will be described as a calendar day. HOWEVER, we will hold you to that.
There will be NO acceptance of any excuse concerning time. In other words, don't complain that you've been warned or locked when in "X" hours/minutes it will be a new day. You can't have it both ways.
There will be NO stealth bumping http://www.couponforum.com/cf-339261.html?highlight=stealth#339261 . IF your thread is locked for abuse of the bumping rule, it will not be unlocked and you may not copy and paste the contents of it to a new thread until the next CALENDAR day.
Active threads need to be kept to the maximum of 3. How you use them to list or offer what you have is up to you. However, be aware that you'll get more trade opportunities without multiple single offer threads.
After a warning, the next step is a week's vacation from the board.
This issue ALWAYS causes problems with the overwhelming majority of complaints falling to too much bumping, not too little. Have some common courtesy with each other and these problems will right themselves.
Please be fair to everyone. |
