I just did this the other day. DH and I LOVE HOT showers. We can BOTH shower and still have hot water left over so it got me to thinking...

So I went and turned down the water heater a bit and lo and behold we STILL had enough water heated for BOTH of us! I won't know if/how much we've saved anything until after we quit using the heater for the winter though.

Also if you have a GAS fireplace JUST leaving the pilot light on can cost BIG $$$ a MONTH!
