While it is true that when the budget crunch hit you one of the first things you do is stop eatting out there are ways to make that possible at least sometimes for most people to do this on occasion.
Make a list of EVERY place you like to eat when you go out. Contact each place and see if they offer email offers and sign up. This is FREE. Then sit back and see what offers come your way. You may get BOGO's or totally free items (like for a birthday or kids meals) or there may be just special bonus deals that make it affordable or even silly not to take advantage of the deal! Some places will require you to print out a coupon, some say just be sure to mention the deal. Just do as they say and SAVE! |

Another idea: We buy the Entertainment book every year, but there are even more coupons on the Entertainment web site, so don't forget to look online if your favorite restaurant isn't in the print book.
DH and I also belong to many email lists for our favorite restaurants. Between the emails and the E book we often have a coupon to go out to eat! |

many(most) restaraunts have some sort of special. it might be that kiddos eat free with an adult entree purchase, free birthday pie/cake, etc. sometimes those places will even be free on weekends. it will vary per location/restaraunt. it only takes a phone call to find out. most of the time it will be 2 children's meals per 1 adult purchase. pretty good deal. you can also take your child to different places at report card time for free treats. it is usually for the A or A/B honor roll. some places around here that participate are sonic, taco bell, chick-fila, mcdonalds, pizza hut. i know there are a few more here(just cannot remember them at the moment ) |

| Order water and use the flavor packets, or ask for lemon and use Splenda for flavoring. This is what DH and I do most the time. With sodas costing about $2.25 ea in our area, it's enough to cover the tip most the time when 2 or more people eat out. |

| Compliment them as well! I know a lot of us compliment companies if we like their products. If you've been out to eat recently, email them and let them know what wonderful service you received, or how much you liked something new you tried off the menu. I do this from time to time, and have gotten Gift cards back in the mail!! |

1.) sign up for email for all food places you frequent
2.) fill out any comment cards at the restaurancts (sometimes they send freebies)
3.) watch the papers for coupons. i keep a stack of restaurant coupons for going out in the car just in case
4.)if you eat a little earlier, sometimes they offer a lunch special or midday cheapey meal deal |

Don't forget restaurant.com! Sometimes you can find codes for 80% off, and get $25 gift certificates for $3! I have found codes at retailmenot.com and upromise.com. Most of the restaurants require you to make a $35 purchase and add 18% tip to check before discount....but in the end, you can have a $35 meal+ $6.30 tip - $25 GC +$3 cost of GC= $19.30 for total meal WITH tip! Good deal if you eat out frequently!! Plus, most of the restaurants are nice ones that I cannot afford to go to often! |
