Shop Rite every year has a promotion where if you spend a couple hundred bucks with your card, you'll qualify for a free turkey. For the past several years we've gotten turkeys free this way.

Stop & Shop has a promotion where they won't be undersold on turkeys. So, I take a ShopRite flyer and copies of my receipts over to S&S and get another free turkey, which I donate to the local food pantry. I've gotten around the limit 1 per person by going to a couple different S&S stores.

In prior years, I've gotten Shaw's to honor this as well, but one of them didn't last year.

It takes some work tracking/organizing the receipts, but its worth it if you can help a needy family out during the holidays.

Does anyone else do this?

Does anyone know if PriceChopper will match this?

I won't be able to get as many free turkeys this year as I am no longer buying formula/diapers, but for folks that spend that much more per week, it's a great idea.
