I e mailed the company thinking I was doing something wrong because I couldn't install their Coupon Printer. I got this e mail in response. I installed Firefox and used that browser for the Smart source site. Hope this letter helps others.

We’re sorry to hear you’re having difficulty activating our new Coupon Printer. If the yellow Information Bar does not appear or you do not see “the button below” there are a few possible factors that could be blocking this from functioning.

1. You do not have administrative rights to download Active X or other programs on your computer. Likewise, a firewall could also prevent you from downloading anything. This is often the case if you are on a corporate network or are using a public computer like at an internet café or library. You will need to speak to your system administrator, or try using a home or personal computer instead.

2. Your browser’s settings are not configured to allow downloads like ours. To check and change that, go to “Options” under the “Tools” tab of your browser’s menu and:

Set your security level to Medium
“Enable” ActiveX controls and plug-ins
Add http://coupons.smartsource.com and http://www.smartsource.com to your list of Trusted Sites.
Some users report that the problem cleared up when they switched to a different browser. If you’re using Internet Explorer, try Firefox instead; you can download it for free from www.mozilla.com/firefox.

3. Virus or Spyware Protection software may be mistaking our download as malicious. Rest assured it is not. Whereas Spyware is downloaded without the user’s knowledge and covertly tracks the users internet activity, our Coupon Printer does not track your activity and can only be downloaded with your explicit permission. The Coupon Printer is powered by SmartSource, a News America Marketing company, which is part of News Corporation. What to do:

Get the latest update for your anti-virus software. Symantec, McAfee, and Trend Micro recognize our product as safe and secure in their most recent versions.
Refer to the Help menu of your respective anti-spyware program

Melinda, Firefox will sometimes give you problems with the bricks coupons though. That's why I always ask you to print me the ones I know you're family won't use. So keep an eye out for that problem. I had Internet Explorer for the longest time for my Verizon but it acted up and used to shut down itself all the time so I switched to Firefox. But you may not have this problem, it could just be me... Rolling Eyes

I know this is a really old post, but for some reason, I can no longer print coupons that are on the smartsource site, or that are printed through smartsource, (like the free flat earth chips). I've tried both Firefox and IE. Anyone else have a similar problem? How do I fix this?

Smartsource has had months to fix this software and has done nothing.

Nothing is going to change until all of us start writing to the companies offering coupons through Smartsource and requesting that the find a coupon company that has functioning software. That's what I've been doing.

I spent months trying to get a solution through Smartsource. The problem is their software, not my computer.

And I absolutely refuse to download another browser that may or may not work. If these companies want our business, they'll do something about the problem.
