| Please do not use the Swifer wet jet! A friend of mine used it and the chemicals made her dog very sick. They are dangerous for your home. |

I too am an animal lover and when this started circulating I went to the source ( see below ) This is posted on Swiffer.com under their Q&A section.
| Quote: | Swiffer pet rumor
Question
Are the ingredients safe?
Answer
We're glad you came to us for the facts about the rumor circulating. Swiffer Wet cloths and WetJet liquid solution do not contain antifreeze or any ingredient similar to it. In fact, Swiffer products have been safely used in over 15 million U.S. homes--many with pets--for nearly five years.
Independent veterinarians and scientists evaluated the Swiffer Wet Cloths and WetJet cleaners and found them safe. The ASPCA (American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) has even posted information about this rumor on their site. Here's a link to their home page: http://www.aspca.org
We have pets too, and their health and well-being is very important to us. Please help us put animal lovers' minds at ease and stop this rumor by sharing the truth with others

Reposting this here since the subject has come up in this thread too. Most every P&G product has a hoax alert roaming the web... reader beware
Pets Dying From Their Owners' Use of the Swiffer WetJet Product-Fiction!
Summary of the eRumor
The email says a pet dog had to be put down because of liver failure.
The owner was mystified until spotting a warning on the label of a Swiffer Wetjet floor cleaning product that seemed to indicate danger to children and pets.
He is described as having called the manufacturer and was told that the cleaning ingredient in the Wetjet is only one molecule away from antifreeze, which can be toxic.
The Truth
First, there is no substantiation of this eRumor and, like many rumors, it is written in a way that there is no way to check it out.
There are no names, places, dates, or any professional offices or government agencies where the incident could be confirmed.
The Swiffer Wetjet is a mop-looking gizmo from Procter and Gamble that comes with special disposable absorbent pads and a spray bottle filled with cleaning solution.
According to an FAQ on their website, the makers of the Swiffer Wetjet say the product is safe for pets and does not leave residue on the floor.
They also say that the product does not contain antifreeze or any ingredient similar to it.
