starbucks coupons don't scan period. Even the free ones from corporate don't have barcodes. I read that it was an email sent to a region that said to pass along to a friend or two, but it got out of the region and starbucks is honoring, several people have already called, but I figure I'd email to make sure. I'm just checking |

I hate to inform you but that coupon is fake. Starbucks from time to time does run promotions but they are for one day only and they NEVER give away Grande size ever.
Google it and you will see it is fake. |

Thought I should post this info here also.

I went onto Starbucks to see if they had any info. Below is a direct quote from the Starbucks site:

Starbucks Response to Free Iced Coffee Email
An email offering a free Starbucks iced coffee was distributed to a limited group of Starbucks partners (employees) in the Southeast United States on Wednesday, August 23, 2006 with instructions to forward to their group of friends and family. Unfortunately, it has been redistributed beyond the original intent and modified beyond Starbucks control. Effective immediately, this offer will no longer be valid at any Starbucks locations.
We apologize for any confusion and inconvenience as a result of this offer.

| I got an email from Caribou Coffee (pretty much only in the Midwest, I think) saying that on Friday, Sept 8th they will honor the Free Starbuck's coupon, since they heard so many Starbuck's will not even honor their own coupon. According to other boards, they are real. Employees were just told not to take them.......Caribou is WAY better anyway, IMO...... |

I think Caribou goes to the East Coast as well. They frequently have "free coffee" days and coups out there! Wish I was closer to one! |

According to the Starbucks website, it IS a real coupon, they just won't be honoring it.
Obviously some one in Starbucks marketing will be getting the boot for not thoroughly thinking through this coupon campaign. Hello??!! Emails spread faster than viruses. |

| Ok. I called My personal lawyer about this coupon. And if it is indeed lagit and they just won't honor it you should stock up on these. Because he said if they lose that lawsuit that they have on this that they will have to honor them. Wouldn't that be great? I love starbucks but normally cannot afford it. |

| It was altered from the original wording, and that is why they aren't accepting them. It originally was for a small, not the large. Someone altered it to get a little more free coffee. Starbucks has the right to pull it because it is no longer legit. They issued a statement saying why they are no longer honoring it. I think they have every right to. |
