| slow cooker is the best way!! it will come out wonderful and tender and moist, add about 1 cup of water( for lots of gravy) and onion, carrots , celery and some garlic and potatoes. and of course seasoning..meal done all at once ( I don't add the potatoes in right away, or i have had them come out mushy) hth |

yep slow cooker/crockpot the best way.
I brown mine first and add it to crockpot using
a combination of any two below
mushroom soup 1 can
pack of brown gravy 1 pack
lipton onion soup mix 1 pack
I prefer the brown gravy/mushroom soup
I add two cups water to the 2 above
I do add veggies at times but not often.
Thanks! |

| I have been making my pork roasts (for feeding my moving helpers pulled pork sammies) this way....spray the slow cooker with Pam, place roast(s) in. sprinkle a packet of Onion soup mix over each roast. add about 1/2 cup of water and cook on high for about an hour or so, then switch to low and cook for 6-7 hours. It falls apart! For a regular roast, add quartered taters, baby carrots, garlic......yum. |

| I'm like perplexed. I like to brown mine on all sides before putting in the crock pot. I loved my old crock pot. It had a dutch oven that just sat on the base and I could put the dutch oven right onto the stove top before putting it on the base. I browned my roast right in the same pot that was the crockpot. They don't make them like that anymore so what I would do is brown the roast in a pan on the stove top, put the roast in the crockpot, add a little water to the pan that your browned the roast in and scrape the brown bits off and add that to the crock pot. Add onion to the crockpot from the beginning or dry onion soup mix. Cover. It will make it's own liquid so I don't add water. When it's more than half way done, add carrots and potatoes so they don't get too mushy. |

yes like that lol lol if you want gravy which us southerners do lol
I removed the liquid from the crockpot into a pan on stove turn on heat but I reserve about half cup and add some corn starch, maybe about teaspoon to reserved liquid and stir(with wisk) till desolved , I slowly add that to pot and stir contantly ,you can add s/p too for your taste, it should start to thicken
if not add a bit more and wisk.
or you can just cut crockpot on high and add cornstarch to the crockpot with liquid in it that way, just be sure to use a wisk and stir good or you will have clumps KWIM.
enjoy!
Thanks!

In my experience, if you want to slice the meat, use a roasting bag. If you want tender meat that falls apart in chunks, use the slow cooker.
If I want meat I can slice for sandwiches I prefer the oven bag. Otherwise, the slowcooker is awesome and easy! |

I always roll my roast in flour and brown it in a skillet on the stove with olive oil.
Then I put it in the crockpot and use 2 packets of Knorr Onion Soup mix. Sometimes I use the Knorr Mushroom and Garlic. (I think, or maybe Mushroom and Onion) I don't add anymore water to the crock pot or it dilutes the flavor. I cook for a few hours and then add red potatoes and carrots. OMG so yummy! |

MMMMMMMM, me too! Or sometimes I'll add a bottle of beer. Sounds strange, tastes FANTASTIC and makes a great gravy, too!
Never water, though...beef broth or beer all the way. |

I love my rump roast cooked this way!
Get one of those spices plus cooking bag throw in all the veggies you want pepper, carrots, potatoes, onions etc. Before you seal the bag add one full can of coke. Place the entire thing in a glass baking dish I usually lay the bag in and fill as we go that way no worries of breaking the bag as you go.
Let it cook for several hours at 300 degrees when you pull it out the meat will be the most moist and tasty meat you have ever had. |

I could go for a beer too right about now. I just killed two centipeds in my house and I'm freaking out. So, the roast dinner party won't be at my house. LOL |
