i bought mushrooms a week ago (last saturday) and i forgot i had them in the fridge
now i took them out and they do look not as fresh anymore.still in the original container they came in but i removed the foil te first day i got them.they did stick a little to each other.
i did clean them and slice them now.
i totally forgot i still had them
my question now is are they still save to eat??
i did try one and it tastes ok. just not sure if its save to eat?
they were in the fridge the whole week.
hopefully someone can advice
thanks so much |

I've found mushrooms don't last long; 2-3 days tops in the fridge.
My MIL said you can freeze them, but I've never heard that. Anyone know if this is true or not? |

Yes, you can freeze them. I just put some in my freezer before my vacation cause I knew they wouldn't last till I got home. I usually spread them out on a cookie sheet in the freezer so they don't clump together. When they're frozen throw them in a freezer bag. I use that method to freeze anything that was once fresh. I usually use those mushrooms to add to something though like omletts, casseroles, etc... anything that you cook since I'm not sure how they would taste after freezing eating by themselves. HTH |
