|
|
Ok, I tried to make chili today but didn't realize until I'd added the crushed tomatoes that I have no tomato paste. So I just didn't add it. I just tasted and it's a little spicy (hot spicy) but too bland for chili. I've added so far: 2 lbs ground beef, 5 tbls chili powder, 2 tbls onion powder, 2 tbls brown sugar.
What can I add to make it taste decent? |

| I would add beans...I use Light red kidney, white beans and pintos in mine and add more chili powder and some sauteed onions and let simmer for 30-45 minutes more. |

You can't taste the chocolate - makes a difference in the consistency, too!
Have you ever had Chicken en Mole? Mexican Mole Sauce is made from chocolate |

| Thanks for the idea's guys! I added some onions and green peppers. Still not the way I wanted it and if I had more time, I'd have played around with the ideas more but I had to get kids off the bus and get my rear to work. The one with chocolate sounds interesting though! |

yes, ewww gag! My DH is spanish and mole is one of his favorite things. It's not the sauce that bothers me it's that the chicken is always wet. I believe you that it's good in chili though! |
