|
I started making these for my kids, because I was tired of spending so much on granola bars! Now they want these all of the time and never ask for packaged ones.
1/2 cup butter/margarine melted
1/2 cup packed brown sugar (sometimes I use a little less)
1/2 cup light corn syrup or honey
2/3 cup peanut butter (I use natural crunchy but others work too)
2 tsp vanilla
1/2 cup coconut
1/3 cup wheat germ
1/3 cup raisins (optional)
2 TBS of sesame seeds (optional)
3/4-1 cup choclate chips or butterscotch chips
Melt butter, mix brown sugar, corn syrup, peanut butter, and vanilla. Add melted butter mix well. Add other ingredients mix well.
Bake in a 9 x 13 pan at 350 for 20-30 minutes.
I find these sweet enough, the recipe originally called for 1 cup of brown sugar and I cut it down. it is a really easily manipulated recipe. |
