This came from my husband's grandmother and we always have it on chocolate cake.

1 c. sugar
1/2 c. water
pinch of cream of tarter
1 Tbsp. white Karo syrup
1 egg white

Boil first 4 ingredients. Beat egg white til stiff. Slowly add syrup mixture. Beat again til stiff peaks form. Spread over cake.
