Any kind of fruit or veggie- hard or choking items in a baby-safe feeder (don't forget avocado!)
sandwiches with bread/pita/tortilla/cracker etc are all good
Toppings: pb, jelly, apple butter, hummus, refried beans, tuna fish, egg salad
"meats"/protein- cold cuts in small pieces, tofu, beans (I used canned black, red, pinto, etc , rinsed them off and cut in 1/2), cut-up hard boiled eggs, cooked chicken even steak in very tiny pieces
dry cereals (esp easy melting or circles)
oatmeal, soup, stews (usually very soft because they are so well cooked), potato salad, macaroni salad, cut-up olives,
Noodles with spaghetti sauce or a tiny bit of olive oil (mix in canned or other soft tomatoes & mushrooms mmmm) |

I just have to say I know EXACTLY where you are coming from. My ds is 15 months old and also has a milk allergy. You just can't believe the products that contain milk ~ stuff you would never imagine. My ds has 8 teeth and is working on cutting molars so we probably have an easier selection to choose from - but if you need have any questions or need any help - just PM me |

Have you tried tofutti products? My daughter loves the cheese and ice cream. The cheese is a BIG help! I'm able to make her grilled cheese, cheese and crackers, pizza, tacos! As she gets older it will get easier (it did with my daughter at least.) Our family has adapted our foods to what she can have and as you go the list will get bigger as you find more foods that actually don't contain milk. Like did you know that oreos have no milk??? Not exactly what you were looking for when asking for healthy foods, right? So anyway to stay on that train of thought I am going to post this delicious cake recipe for you. (Walmart brand semi-sweet chocolate chips and chocolate fudge frosting are milk-free):
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup white sugar
1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
5 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 tablespoon white vinegar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup cold water
1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
1.Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease an 8x8 inch baking pan.
2. In a large bowl, combine flour, salt , sugar, cocoa powder, and baking soda. Mix well with a fork, then stir in oil, vinegar, and vanilla extract. When dry ingredients are thoroughly moistened, pour in cold water and stir until batter is smooth. Stir in chocolate chips and pour batter into prepared pan.
3. Bake in preheated oven for 30 to 35 minutes, until a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool on a rack. |
