The blackberries are getting ripe. I plan to make some blackberry jam this afternoon. Very Happy

My husband is wanting me to make blackberry dumplings like his grandma used to make. So, I am looking for a recipe going by what he told me they were like. He said that it was like chicken and dumplings only it was blackberries. He said they were wonderful.

Does anyone have a recipe? I want a recipe that just calls for basic ingredients like flour, shortening, etc. No Bisquik mix. His granny made them from scratch.
